The Series 3 And Series 34 Exams
The Series 3 examination is performed by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Those who want to sell products or product agreements (and who do not be eligible for a exemptions) must complete the Series 3 examination. These people will have to sign-up a Commodity Pool Operator (CPOs) with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and become members of the National Futures Trading Association (NFA). All owners and associated persons (APs) of the manager/CPO will need to complete this examination. The examination features two sections: 1) industry knowledge, and 2) industry rules/regulations. You will have 2 and a 1/2 time to answer 120 several choices and true/false questions. On each part of the examination, you must rank at least 70% in order to complete the entire Series 3 examination.
On the first part of the examination, you will be needed to understand the fundamentals of the product markets, such as the product agreements, securing, wondering, product language, product choices, edge requirements, types of purchases, primary fundamental research, and spread trading. There will be 85 questions on this part of the examination.
In the second part of the examination, you will be needed to understand and be acquainted with industry guidelines, such as relevant FINRA guidelines. There will be 35 questions on this part of the examination.
You should be as acquainted as possible with the following examination topics: product trading theory; edges, boundaries, and settlements; purchases, accounts, and analysis; primary hedging; financial hedging; spreads; general speculation; financial speculation; choices; guidelines.
The following terms are useful to know for the exam: bucketing, delta, double top, first notice day, innate value, upside down industry, longer hedge, offset, scalpers, straddle.

The Series 34 is a new examination which will be needed by the CFTC for Forex supervisors. There are 40 several choices and true/false questions on the examination. You will have 1 time to take the examination and will have to rank 70% to complete.
The questions on the examination can be split up into the following categories: explanations and language (25%), Forex computations (20%), Forex ideas and ideas (25%), Forex threats (10%), and Forex guidelines (20%).
The examination will require you to make mathematical computations, so be prepared to use a financial calculator on approximately 5 questions.
